A captured Pokémon, a failed catch and a skipped encounter under a written clause are different outcomes that are easy to confuse after several sessions. This distinction matters for a blind or semi-blind challenge: planning can be as detailed or as limited as the player wants. Update the run immediately, move unavailable Pokémon out of the active picture and review the remaining party before the next route. Its value is a reliable roster: the Pokémon currently usable, the boxed options and the losses are shown in the same place as the route history.

Emerald Nuzlocke rules vary around duplicate species, gift Pokémon, static encounters and catches in named sub-areas. Choose the interpretation before it becomes relevant and write it in the run. The record is then useful if a borderline encounter happens later.
