What is a Nuzlocke?
CHALLENGE RUNA Nuzlocke is a self-imposed hardcore ruleset for Pokémon games: less safety net, more attachment to your team — and every route matters. The rules are voluntary and not built into the games; you choose how strict the run is.
Play solo, pair up in a Soul Link, add a randomizer, run Hardcore (no boxing), or use dupes/shiny clauses — most players customize. This tracker supports solo and multiplayer runs including Soul Link.
- Catch only the first wild Pokémon on each route or area — no second chance if it faints or flees.
- If a team Pokémon faints, it is dead (release or permanently boxed).
- Nickname every Pokémon you catch — that bond is part of the challenge.

Route encounters
Record the first encounter for each route and see which catches are still open.
Team and losses
Keep the current team, boxed Pokémon and fallen partners in one run log.
Rules that fit the run
Start with the standard rules, then document the clauses your group actually uses.
Regional maps
Use Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh and Unova maps to plan the next route without replacing the real result.
Solo and Soul Link
Track a personal challenge or share a run with partners through an invite code.
Free in the browser
Create a run without an install and return to its team, encounters and losses from the browser.
GAME COVERAGE
Supported games and regions
Guided route and encounter tracking is available for the Gen 1–5 regions Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh and Unova. Each run keeps route outcomes next to the team and loss history.
For Gen 6–9 games, create a freeform run to track your own rules, team and losses without claiming guided route data.
SHARED RUNS
Soul Link and multiplayer tracking
Create a shared run, invite partners with a code and keep encounters, teams and losses in sync. It supports Soul Link and other group formats without pretending that every group uses the same clauses.
