Where to catch Pikachu

In FireRed/LeafGreen there are exactly two wild locations, both with verified rates from PokéAPI:

Only Ground – 2× damage. As a pure Electric type, Pikachu has exactly one weakness (Ground) and three resistances: Electric, Flying and Steel at 0.5× each. There are no immunities — the hidden ability Lightning Rod, which additionally nullifies Electric moves, only exists from Gen 5 onward; it plays no role in FR/LG.
Via a Thunder Stone into Raichu. The line starts with Pichu, which evolves into Pikachu through high friendship. Pikachu + Thunder Stone = Raichu; since Gen 7 this yields Alolan Raichu (Electric/Psychic) in Alola instead. No specific level is required for any of the steps.
Not before Lv 26 – once Thunderbolt is learned. In Gen 3 (FireRed/LeafGreen) Raichu learns no new moves by level-up: use the stone too early and you miss Thunderbolt (Lv 26), Agility (33) and Thunder (41). Recommendation: wait for Thunderbolt, then evolve.
The core line-up in FireRed/LeafGreen: Thunder Shock (Lv 1), Tail Whip (6), Thunder Wave (8), Quick Attack (11), Double Team (15), Slam (20), Thunderbolt (26), Agility (33), Thunder (41) and Light Screen (50). Thunder Wave + Thunderbolt is the standard backbone for a story run.
Solid, but no free win – with clear strengths and one hard weakness. With 90 Speed Pikachu almost always moves first, and Thunder Wave (Lv 8) paralyzes reliably – worth gold for tough catches and fast opponents. Thunderbolt from Lv 26 hits Water and Flying teams hard. The flip side: 35/40/50 bulk is fragile, and its only weakness, Ground, is dangerously common in Kanto (Diglett, Geodude, Giovanni's team). Rule of thumb: great as paralysis support and the anti-Water answer, but never switch it into Ground.
