Thunder Stone

Thunder Stone evolves Electric Pokémon, most famously Pikachu into Raichu. In FireRed/LeafGreen you buy it in the Celadon department store or find one in the Power Plant.
What does the item do?
Evolves certain species of Pokémon. A peculiar stone that can make certain species of Pokémon evolve. It has a distinct thunderbolt pattern.

Which Pokémon does Thunder Stone evolve?
Instant evolution without a level requirement, but with a moveset trap. Pikachu and Eevee are the Kanto targets. The trap: in FireRed/LeafGreen, Raichu learns no new level-up moves after evolving. Strong Electric attacks then come only from TMs, and Jolteon barely learns anything either. Secure the moveset first, then use the stone.
In FireRed/LeafGreen you can find Thunder Stone here: Power Plant. The Celadon department store sells the stone for 2100 Pokédollars on the fourth floor. A free one lies in the Power Plant, which you reach from Route 10 with Surf.
A must for Pikachu owners, with patience. Raichu and Jolteon are both fast attackers that hold their own in a story run. Timing decides everything: evolve too early and the pre-evolution's moveset is lost. A stock of Thunderbolt TMs makes the decision easier.
