Lum Berry

Lum Berry cures any status condition the moment the holder is hit by one. It is the universal answer to sleep, burn, and the rest, and in FireRed/LeafGreen it is hidden in the field.
What does the item do?
Consumed to cure any status condition or confusion. A Berry to be consumed by Pokémon. If a Pokémon holds one, it can recover from any status condition during battle.

Eaten automatically on any status condition, including confusion. It covers everything: sleep, paralysis, burn, poison, freeze, and confusion. Single-purpose berries like Cheri heal one condition only; Lum replaces all of them in one slot. It is consumed the moment the status lands, before damage or a lost turn applies. On setup sweepers it secures the exact turn in which the opponent tries to stop the setup with Hypnosis or Thunder Wave.
In FireRed/LeafGreen you can find Lum Berry here: Route 8 and Route 23. Same rule here: hidden spots, the Itemfinder helps. Route 8 sits east of Saffron City and is reachable early, Route 23 only in the endgame on the way to the Indigo Plateau.
Insurance for your carry. A badly timed Hypnosis kills whole sweeps, and Lum Berry cancels exactly that moment. In versus it is standard on dance sweepers; in a story run it saves healing items against status-heavy gyms. Because it works once, it is no replacement for real healing over long fights.
