Lucky Egg
DE: Glücks-Ei · Cost: 10000 ₽
Lucky Egg is a held item that raises its holder's experience points by 50%. It is the strongest training item in the series and famously rare: in FireRed/LeafGreen only wild Chansey carry it.
What does the item do?
Increases Exp. Points earned in battle by 50%. An item to be held by a Pokémon. It’s an egg filled with happiness that earns the holder extra Exp. Points in battle.
Effect numbers are modern rules. FRLG may differ. See Q&A.
+50% Exp. Points for the holder, no condition and no downside in battle. The boost applies to every source of battle experience and stacks with other bonuses like the 1.5× bonus for traded Pokémon. Combined, that is a 2.25× multiplier. Only the holder benefits, not the team. Because the item gives no combat advantage, you swap it out before the Elite Four when the slot matters more for Leftovers or a berry.
Our Kanto dataset (FireRed/LeafGreen) has no recorded location for Lucky Egg. Our Kanto dataset tracks field locations, not items held by wild Pokémon. In the Safari Zone, a wild Chansey holds a Lucky Egg with a 5% chance. Catch every Chansey you see or use Thief, and bring patience.
Rare, but worth every Safari round. Over a full run the bonus saves hours of grinding, especially before the Pokémon League. The odds were 2% in Gold/Silver and are 5% in FireRed/LeafGreen. Once you own one, it always sits on the Pokémon you are currently raising.
