Linking Cord

DE: Linkkabel · Cost: 8000 ₽

The Linking Cord triggers trade evolutions without trading. It comes from Legends: Arceus and answers one of the series' oldest problems for solo players.

EFFECT

What does the item do?

Allows a Pokémon whose evolution is usually triggered by trading to evolve.

EVOLUTION

Which Pokémon does Linking Cord evolve?

The Linking Cord replaces trading entirely: use it instead of trading — perfect for solo players (Legends: Arceus).

Q&A

Use instead of trade, the evolution starts immediately. The item replaces the trade entirely: you use it from the bag on a Pokémon like Kadabra, and the evolution runs without a second player. It covers the four classic trade species that need no extra item: Kadabra, Machoke, Graveler, and Haunter. In Legends: Arceus there are no held items, so item-based trade evolutions simply use their item directly instead.

Our Kanto dataset (FireRed/LeafGreen) has no recorded location for Linking Cord. The Linking Cord exists only in Legends: Arceus, where you get it at the Trading Post in Jubilife Village and in space-time distortions. FireRed/LeafGreen and every other Kanto game do not have the item.

A blessing for solo players. Alakazam, Machamp, Golem, and Gengar are among the strongest Pokémon of their games but were chained to trading for decades. With the cord you can plan them into your team for real. In games without the item, the classic two-console trade remains the only way.
