Eviolite
DE: Evolith · Cost: 4000 ₽
Eviolite is a held item for Pokémon that can still evolve. It raises their defensive stats and makes some pre-evolutions tougher than their final forms. It was introduced in Generation 5.
What does the item do?
Holder has 1.5× Defense and Special Defense, as long as it is not fully evolved. A mysterious evolutionary lump. When held by a Pokémon that can still evolve, it raises both Defense and Sp. Def.
Effect numbers are modern rules. FRLG may differ. See Q&A.
Defense and Special Defense ×1.5, only for not-fully-evolved Pokémon. The condition is strict: the holder must have a possible evolution left. On fully evolved species the item does nothing and the slot is wasted. The factor applies to both defensive stats at once, which turns bulky pre-evolutions like Porygon2 or Chansey into serious walls. The winners are Pokémon whose evolution adds little bulk anyway.
Our Kanto dataset (FireRed/LeafGreen) has no recorded location for Eviolite. Eviolite arrived with Generation 5 and does not exist in FireRed/LeafGreen.
Unmatched on the few right holders. The honest math: most Pokémon should just evolve, because offense and new moves outweigh the defensive boost. The exceptions like Porygon2 and Chansey rank among the toughest Pokémon anywhere. Eviolite rarely makes sense in a story run, but it stars in formats that allow pre-evolutions.
